Today the Vasa Museum passed yet another milestone, welcoming its 13 millionth visitor since the opening of the new museum in 1990. The lucky guest, a nine-year old Swedish girl, won free admission, a VIP tour of the museum, and a super-VIP tour onboard Vasa as well as lifetime free admission. Not a bad door prize. The event leaves one to ponder the potential for other maritime museums around the world if they were to adopt the assertive marketing strategies employed by Vasa Museet...
